SIMPLES is about two young Mumbaikars chasing fast money to fund their dream of settling in Berlin and escaping India, but the sudden arrival of a woman and her kid destabilises their already precarious world.
In the choking sprawl of contemporary Bombay, Saad and Tria hold onto a fragile dream: leaving for Berlin. Saad, a disillusioned dancer now working as a delivery rider, sees it as an escape from a city that seems to be slowly erasing him. For Tria, a sharp-tongued trans woman, aspiring music producer, Berlin represents reinvention and entry into the world she believes she belongs to.
They scramble to pay and save for this whole ordeal of a dream that keeps slipping away from the tiniest cracks. Survival in Bombay demands constant improvisation. Saad spends his days delivering orders and ferrying strangers across the city, overhearing fragments of their anxieties and ambitions, while Tria hustles between tattoo appointments, DJ gigs, and wealthy patrons.
Their fragile plan takes a hit when Saad’s chaotic ex Kiara suddenly appears with their young son, Ditto, dragging unresolved histories and new tensions into their already cramped apartment.
What follows is a restless journey through the city: thefts, hustles, disappearances, and unlikely alliances as the three navigate love, desperation, and the strange pull of a place that is both suffocating and impossible to leave.
Simples is a portrait of young lives improvising their way through the biggest metro city that never pauses  to offer a hug or certainty.
We have made a collection of music that goes with the vibe of the film.
